On the day you have made up your mind to quit smoking, get rid of all your cigarettes and throw away your ashtrays. Do not be in the company of the people who smoke on the day you choose to quit smoking. Alter your daily routine of activities. Like for example, when spend time with people whom you don’t usually meet and go to places that you haven’t visited earlier. This operation helps in keeping you busy so that your mind is not concentrated on having a smoke. And at all times when you have the urge to smoke, engage yourself in some other activities instead. Always carry a stack of gums, hard candy’s with you as these things help you to give up smoking gradually. It must be kept in mind that sugar or sugar candies must be avoided as they sweetness increases you’re craving for smoking. When you have successfully ended your day without smoking, reward yourself by having a meal with your loved ones at your favorite eatery.
Keep yourself out of Bay:
The first signs of quitting smoking are irritation, low concentration power, increased diet and finally the urge to smoke more. Due to this, one may become short-tempered, distracted but you should have the power to manage and control your feelings and emotions by keeping yourself fit by doing a daily routine of exercising, going for a walk with your pet, a bicycle ride, attending yoga classes etc.
Apart from physical exercising, mental thoughts also play a crucial role in building the determination to quit smoking. Think about yourself as a non-smoker and its health benefits. Try to build positive attitude and mingle with people you are ready to help you in your goal.
