The common method of consuming tobacco is known as smoking. Tobacco is burned and the smoke is inhaled. When the tobacco is burned, combustion takes place and a drug named nicotine is released. These are absorbed by lungs from the smoke inhaled. The habit was started as a drug for recreation and it was also a part rituals. It initially began as early as 5000-3000 BC. The vapors from the tobacco are inhaled through alveoli in the lungs. It reacts immediately in the body and heart beat increases. Its reaction time is very less. Dopamine and endorphins are then released into the body. When they are released, immediately it gives pleasure to the smoker. Millions of people across the world are indulged in this habit. Many people around the world have died because of this habit. The more popular way of burning tobacco is through cigarettes. Small amount of tobacco is traditionally rolled in a piece of paper and burnt. It is later industrially manufactured and many companies have evolved to make profits out of this habit.
Anti smoking Activities are on a full swing to make people quit smoking. Many associations and groups have been formed around the world in order to educate people and make them realize the effects of smoking. Many ways and methods are tried by them to make this movement active. Many anti smoking slogans like “Save your lungs, save your life” are used to promote their activities and help the smokers.
